Ingleby Cross June 8

We left the Lovesome Hill after eating a sumptuous breakfast. A vegetable omelette cooked by are hostess Mary. It is getting more difficult to say goodbye. Your are so looked after and spoiled by the consideration and thoughtfulness of the owners of the B&Bs we have stayed at. Our walk was short but delightful. We walked with several other couples we have met so to gather we found our way easily. We went thru many farms and meadows. Several of the farmers put out refreshments such as drinks fruit and flapjacks which are a kind of jam bar. They have a little box nearby where you put in the cost of the object.Tonight we are taking off our very muddy boots and relaxing while Beverly is preparing our Sunday night meal. Being Sunday the meal promises to be more than fulfilling. Before settling into a warm shower and a relaxed brew, we took a very muddy road to the Mount Grace Priory the best preserved and most accessible of the ten Carthusian charter houses in England. Founded in 1398, it was the last monastery established in Yorkshire before the Reformation. While there we had the opportunity to try ginger wine which was delicious. Tonight we are at Park House. It is a traditional sandstone farmhouse situated on the edge of Ancliffe Woods in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It is on both the Coast to Coast and the Cleveland Way walks.

Two Beverelys working hard to provide the Sunday meal.

We had a traditional Sunday roast for dinner. They offered us first a bubbly white wine. We then were seated and our plates filled to the brim were served. We had a beef roast, potatoes, carrots, broccoli, string beans and Yorkshire pudding. For desert

I had pieces of marange in whip cream with berries. Stu had a white chocolate cheese cake with Strawberries. Absolutely brilliant meal. Our best meals have always been those prepared by the B&Bs. Praise to Beverley and Michael for providing such bedazzling service to those who stay at the Park House.

Joan at this stage is very happy
